Green Loop
(Nashville)
IS LAUNCHING!

JOIN US IN 2012 in creating the city's first hub for green business and sustainability ventures

WHO WE ARE

Green Loop (Nashville) is a social enterprise creating the city’s first hub for green business entrepreneurs and sustainability ventures. We believe that growing the local green community and economy goes hand in hand with promoting ‘sustainability for all’- so that access to a lifestyle that prioritizes the environment, health, education and community is available to persons regardless where they may be positioned on the socio-economic spectrum. WHY GREEN LOOP NOW

We believe that Nashville is ready. Market research and financial support generated over the past year have supported our vision to offer the city of Nashville an iconic venue for attracting like-minded entrepreneurs, thought leaders and the creative class while delivering services and programs based on our core values of collaboration, innovation, education and stewardship.

Join Us in 2012

Join us! Volunteer your time or make a donation. Green Loop (Nashville) requires a team effort- and a growing group of dedicated people and resources. Consider joining what has been a 100% volunteer driven effort to date: one that has attracted over $100,000 worth of in-kind donations from leading firms such as Earl Swensson and Associates, Bass Berry Sims, and JE Dunn; won media coverage in the City Paper, News Channel Four along with the Nashville Business Chamber’s Green Hero Award. Undoubtedly nothing would be possible with out the 300+ private consulting hours donated among individual professionals and teams of Master’s students at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management and Peabody School of Education.

WHAT WILL YOU FIND AT THE HUB?

As the city’s first inner-city space dedicated to promoting green business and sustainability community, we are actively recruiting entrepreneurs who share the Green Loop (Nashville) ethos and philosophy- one that values collaboration, innovation and stewardship. We envision having business operators represent many dimensions of sustainability: including smart-growth transport, green building design, healthy and affordable food, and sustainable products. The space, designed by Earl Swensson and Associates, is designed to spark creativity and foster collaboration. We are also excited to align with Green Wood Gardens – our anchor tenants – in scaling Nashville’s first major urban hydroponic farming operation.

FIND US IN HOPE GARDENS, NORTH NASHVILLE!

We are transforming an unused and privately donated Artistic Ironworks Factory in Hope Gardens- located across the street from Goodwill Industries, and only blocks away from the Nashville Farmer’s Market, Marathon Village and a half mile from the State Capital.

From Concept to reality

Since the spring of 2011 we have been working with business consultants, community activists, academia and public leaders – check out the timeline to see how we’ve been spending our time refining the vision and generating support. We intend to develop three main aspects of the space in phases: 1) Urban Farm (operated by Greenwood Gardens); 2) Green Suites (flexible, modular operating space for green business and sustainability ventures); and 3) the Idea Lab (a coworking space for independents, the creative class and students).
